Welcome

Swavesey Village College and Green Energy Options have teamed up once again to apply for the East of England Development Agencies ‘Cut Your Carbon’ funding. The aim of the Swavesey Community Energy Explorers project is to help users explore their homes energy and discover where they are consuming and possibly wasting energy. We are looking for volunteers who would like to calculate their carbon footprint online and be awarded the opportunity to have a GEO Duet or Trio in their household for one school term, as a way of monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions.

What is Cut Your Carbon funding?

Cut Your Carbon is a new funding initiative to encourage communities to work together to reduce their carbon footprint. The funding will be used to kick start Swavesey's Collective Energy Project based around Swavesey Village College and its catchment area.

How will the community of Swavesey benefit?

GEO’s products are designed to make energy visible in homes, schools and businesses allowing you to discover in terms of kWh, CO2 and £ where you can save energy, carbon and money. This is achieved by providing you with the answers to your 'when, where and how' questions concerning your energy usage, as well as giving you control of your homes energy through theremote isolation of appliances feature. The community carbon footprint will calculate how much carbon is being produced collectively by the community and how it will be reduced by with the use of an engaging and encouraging colour energy monitor.

As a participating household you can expect to see savings of up to 20% as we have found from our exisiting homes, schools and businesses.
