Welcome
Welcome to the Flitton and Greenfield Carbon Challenge community homepage. This is an initiative supported by Flitton and Greenfield Parish Council. The aim is to reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions across the parish. We are hoping to obtain more funding for projects having been successful with solar panels for the school, the next step is encourage more home based projects helping individuals to reduce their own carbon. We are also keen to encourage cycling and walking by improving footpaths and obtaining funding for cycleways.
We made it to the last 100 of the Big Green Challenge competition - see www.biggreenchallenge.org.uk and http://flittonhill.blogspot.com for more information. Unfortunately we did not progress any further but learnt a lot along the way.
We have been sucessful in securing funding for a solar energy project at the School for funding under the Cut Your Carbon programme see www.cutyourcarbon.org.uk
The next step is to secure futher funding for other community and householder projects in the Parish.
Please fill in your CARBON FOOTPRINT. This is the best way we have of demonstrating the necessary community participation for grant applications. It will also allow us to track how the Parish is cutting its Carbon emissions.
